Day 36

Wylie enjoys sitting around in his diaper. When I try to put clothes on him, he starts to scream as though wearing a onesie is torture! Most of the time I don't fight it because it's so warm out. We sit out on our front porch and he watches the cars go by, can't complain about a lazy day like this.

Day 35

I know this pic isn't the best quality, but Wylie is moving around so much that it's hard to get a good pic of him on my phone! He is starting to get up on his hands and knees, but he hasn't quite learned to move forward yet. I already can't keep up with him, it's going to be crazy when he does start crawling!

Day 34

We visited with my parents and grandparents for Memorial Day weekend and they loved spending time with Wylie. My mom enjoys feeding him, and this was breakfast one morning. He's not usually all that hungry in the morning, but I let him have some so he gets into the routine of eating. He also loves his sippy cup, which he is eyeing!

Day 33

I keep meaning to write a post on the Curly-Girl Method, which I've been doing for my hair...but I can't make any promises! I will say that this is the longest I have ever loved my hair, and I'm writing this after a weekend of hot and humid weather. My hair rarely survives the humidity!! I'm enjoying my natural curls :)

Day 32

Today Wylie took an almost 3 hour nap! Prior to this his longest nap in his crib has been 45 minutes. I'm not sure if this was a fluke or if this will become a norm for him. I'd love if he took one long nap a day with some cat naps rather than 3 short naps. It's nearly impossible to get much done...but I'm thankful for my happy and active little boy :)

Day 31

Ok so I know he looks naked in this pic, but his lounging is just too funny. I usually strip him down when I give him food because he likes to let it fall out of his mouth onto everything. He loves his teething rings, especially when they have been chilled in the fridge!

Day 30

We had a bit of a rough night Tuesday night. You slept from 8:30-11 and you were WIDE awake from 11-2. I think your belly was upset because you were crying most of the time, which led to a tired and frustrated momma (I had class all day Wednesday and I knew I'd be tired). You didn't get up til 9:30, which was awesome except I had to be out the door by 11 so I was rushing around that morning. I let you sleep on the couch while I got my things together...you woke up like 5 minutes after I took this picture.

Your feet tend to escape out of your PJs in the middle of the night, it's uber cute!

Day 29

Today you rolled around the floor with the tray to your swing. I'm not sure what is so fascinating about it, but you loved it. It looks really awkward, but I think it gives you some leverage to push off of!

Day 28

Today I was making up your oatmeal and I wheeled you around the kitchen in your high chair. You love putting your feet up on it! It's quite humorous and I hope it's not a sign of bad manners to come! You know how to sit up properly, but you must get tired because it never fails that you slide down into your sit and prop your feet up on the tray. Usually you kick at your toys as well or grab at things with your toys...they're like an extra set of hands!

Day 27

Today you got to spend about an hour with daddy and you loved every minute of it. No one makes you laugh like he does, and he's the only person that can keep up with your high energy. The two of you rolled and flipped all over the couch. I'm glad you guys got this time together because he's going to be crazy busy the next few weeks as the weather gets nicer and people finally put in their gardens!

Day 26

You love drinking from my cup. Even though we have sippy cups for you, you cannot get enough water...only when it's from one of our cups. Most of it dribbles out of your mouth, but you try really hard to slurp it up. I don't dare try this with your juice right now!

Day 25

We have moved you into your big boy car seat and you love it. I think it is much more comfortable than your newborn seat because you fall asleep almost as soon as you are in it! Today we visited with one of my professors from undergrad who has an almost 2-year-old and a 1-month-old. You were so sweet and enjoyed being around people!

Day 24

Today, on your rolling adventures, you discovered the tubing to my pump. You were super fussy so I figured I'd just let you play with it to your hearts content...obviously there was nothing loose on it for you to choke on. You are a silly baby :)

Day 23

You are rolling every where now! The couch is the most interesting place for you, and I realize I have to vacuum under it...after I discovered tons of dust bunnies you were grabbing at!

Day 22

Despite my best efforts to keep you from sucking on your thumb, you have discovered your love for it. I watched you suck on your thumb for almost 20 minutes just lounging in your boppy and kicking the toys on your mat. If babies have lazy moments, this was definitely yours! All you need is an XBOX controller and you could be just like daddy when he's not working!

Day 21

Today was our first time trying carrots, and it was kind of a disaster. I found a better recipe to make the next day, because this one was way too stringy. You hated them and spit them all out. Day #2 went much better, I was able to puree the carrots better because I added breast milk. You are still spitting up a lot, and with the carrots, it is making it slightly frustrating as the carrots stain. I asked the pediatrician at your 2 month visit, but I might need to make another call...she said you would grow out of it as your started to learn to sit up, and you are doing a pretty good job of sitting on your own!

Day 20

Sunday is my day to work on homework and now that there is only three weeks of class left, I have a lot of work to finishing up. I'm very ready to be done with Hebrew for awhile after taking 30 weeks of it! I must say this quarter has been my favorite by far as I have translated the entire book of Jonah (not really saying much considering it's only 4 chapters.) I have enjoyed teasing it apart, but I'm sooo ready to be done!

(See my updated photo for Day 13, Mother's Day!)

Day 19

It was hard to choose a pic for today, but I decided on this one, even though it's slightly grainy. Daddy came home early today and got to play with you! You showed him all of your new tricks, including your new favorite sound to say "da" you say it over and over so one day soon it'll be "dada" and you'll mean to say it! Now that your naps are on schedule, you have been such a happy baby :)

Day 18

Ohio weather is so crazy! We had snowstorms AND 60 degree weather in March, it rained practically all of April, and May has been hot, humid, and stormy. The past few days have been in the 70s, but spring storms have hit out of nowhere. They are usually gone as quickly as they come. I love the contrast of the green against the dark sky...even if I don't exactly like thunderstorms. I thought the storm looked cool rolling in :)

(Taken with the Instagram App on the iPhone with the X-Pro II filter)

Day 17

Today we had fun playing with your new (and cheap) water toy. Robin told us how to make this and you absolutely love it! Unfortunately the Walmart Freezer bags leak, but I have found a sturdy clear container on Amazon I'm going to buy. You like that it feels cool on your gums, and you enjoy pushing the rings on the inside of it!

(In case you cannot see, it is a gallon zipper bag filled with water and some plastic rings)

Day 16

I loved my outfit today! Even though my allergies have been acting crazy and I can barely think straight, at least I can get dressed up for class. My top is from Papaya and my jean leggings are from Moody Mamas. You can't seem my green and cream heels, but they are from Charlotte Russe. I love that the weather is starting to get nice, now I just need to get my allergies in check!

Day 15

I was trying to get a pic of your pink cheeks, but I captured your beautiful blue eyes instead! Today was an interesting day. We played out on the front porch for a bit and then when you started to get fussy we went in so you could take a nap, but alas I had locked us out of the house! I panicked for like 5 minutes because my phone was in the house along with my shoes, but I walked to the neighbor (who I had never met before) and called Aunt Abbie (the only one with a spare key other than daddy). It took her an hour and a half to get to the house because she was at work, but we had fun sitting on the porch...you got a little bit of sun, but I think it was okay. After we were rescued, I went up to Lowe's and had extra keys made so I could put one outside and give an extra copy to Meemaw and Poppy.

I have learned my lesson!

Day 14

This week we are beginning the task of getting you to nap in your crib! We have no choice as you are trying to climb out of your swing and we cannot hold you for every nap. It actually hasn't been to bad. You fuss for a bit and then you are alright! I make sure you have your pacifier and your snuggler (today it is monkey snuggler!) and if you roll on your tummy I do try to come in and put you back on your back.

P.S. These camo PJs are my fav :)

Day 13

Today was Mother's Day and we spent it with Meemaw, Poppy, and Uncle Dustin. Daddy had to work, but we had fun visiting the zoo! It was crazy busy, but we got to see most of what we wanted to see (especially the Rainforest!) I cannot wait to take you back when you are even more intrigued by the animals!

Saturday, May 7, 2011

Day 12

Today you visited Aunt Abbie'ss ducks! You were so fascinated by them and followed them all over the bin. I didn't trust you to touch one (not to mention they're super germy) but they definitely held your attention! Makes me very excited to take you to the zoo tomorrow for Mother's Day :)

Day 11

We bought a new vehicle! We traded in my G6 and decided to get a more family-friendly vehicle. I don't love the thought that we are making a car payment again as we had paid off the car in March, but I realllly love my Rav4! We should have this for a good while now, and it'll be perfect as we add to our family in the near future (okay, so not that near). Also, this is our first non-General Motors vehicle (I've had 2 Chevys and a Pontiac, Aaron has had a Chevy and a Pontiac and he currently drives a Chevy truck).

Day 10

Today has two pics because I couldn't choose a favorite! Wylie and I hung out with two of my dear friends at Sonic and enjoyed the beautiful sun :) He was such a good boy and really enjoyed being outside, I think. I cannot wait for it to get even warmer and we can be outside without worrying about the wind!

Day 9

Yesterday hubby had the day off. I had class all day, but I decided to not attend my evening class so we could get dinner together and catch up. My mom was already here watching Wylie, so we got to go out! Quality time is my love language, so I've been feeling rather unloved the past month since Aaron has been working 7 days a week. Only a month to go before things slow back down again!

Day 8

Today was my very first Mother-Daughter Banquet which I attended as a mother! You were the only boy in a room of 80 women, but I don't think you noticed! You are so well behaved, I don't mind taking you anywhere :)

Monday, May 2, 2011

Day 7

You are a teething fool! Everything goes in your mouth and you drool everywhere. One of your bottom teeth is cutting through so soon enough one of those will be popped up and you'll be flashing your toothy grin! Daddy gnawed on everything when he was little (there are still teeth marks on headboards and windowsills at my inlaws to prove it). I pray you don't destroy things with your alligator teeth, but I'm pretty sure we're doomed!

Day 6

This morning you kept trying to escape off of the bed! I would put you in the middle of the bed so I could get ready for the day and I would look over and you would be trying to wedge yourself between the bed and the pack 'n play. Such a stealth baby :P
