Day 79
Wednesday night was rough for us. Wylie is up every hour, standing in his crib, screaming. We've tried letting him go to see if he'll fall back asleep, but after 3 nights we've had no luck. I'm doing some research and we'll be trying out some new things. Once I finally got him out of the crib (he had been screaming for his 2nd set of 10 minutes) it took me about an hour to calm him down. He and I laid on the couch and watched TV until he finally fell asleep around 1. He was so peaceful, though, and so I don't want to do the CIO method anymore. He's too cute to get all worked up :)

CIO is so, so hard. It has never worked for us, either (we didn't give it enough time to work, we just couldn't take it). I'm still wondering if maybe we will have to try it again some day, since Elise is still coming in with us between between 2-3 AM every night. Some of the moms I know through La Leche League recommended putting a mattress on the floor by your bed (which we can't do, not enough room), and I have a friend who just has a mattress on the floor in her baby's room (she's 13 mos) so she can nurse her and then slip out. We'll probably end up getting a mattress sometime before Elise turns 18 months. The No-Cry Sleep Solution book is a popular one for coaxing a baby to sleep without CIO, so you might find some good tips in there if you haven't read that one yet. I hope you are able to find a method that works well for you!! :)
